heartbreak is not loud. it does not come bumbling in to shove you down against a concrete wall. heartbreak sweeps in gracefully and quietly to wrap it's arms around you in a snakes's embrace. heartbreak is not a nosedive off a cliff but is the slight stumble in a confident stride. you never do stride so confidently again. it is not an avalanche but the pin dropping to the floor in a silent room. heartbreak is not violent; it is malicious. broken bones, cuts and bruises will heal. a broken heart can stay broken forever. a gun shot can kill you, heartbreak can kill your soul.

It's so weird how time goes on...

I dyed my hair... brown! I'm still in shock from it. It's such an odd feeling, but I really like the way it came out. I left the front sections pink though (because I couldn't completely part with it).

This is from this morning. Amanda (my kitty) was a little annoyed with me for waking her up to take this photo. She was sleeping on my pillow right in front of my macbook though, what did she expect?

On an unrelated note, I got the new macbook pro (15"). I LOVE IT! Galinda, my old macbook (I was obsessed with Wicked at the time), was on her last legs. I've had her since I was 16, so she's going on 3 years. Plus, I was really abusive to her the whole time; I'm surprised she lasted as long as she did. And I didn't just buy a $2000 computer for fun though, I actually needed it for school. I'm a journalism major, and the communications school I attend require the macbook pro.

Speaking of school, I'm on spring break. It's wonderful feeling being able to sleep. I'm not doing anything thrilling though. No Cancun for me... this year.

I feel like I'm in a music slump. I used to have new songs everyday, but lately I've been listening to the same thing over and over. College is killing my music taste. Anyone have any music suggestions? I'm looking for anything from all different genres (except country, unless you think it's AMAZING) jazz, rap, pop, rock, etc; I'm up for anything and everything new.

I think my camera/imovie hates me. One day I get HD the next I can't even get high quality?! Gargghh! Atleast I got rid the black lines at the top that occurred in the HD video. Maybe I'll have it figured out for the next tutorial. Next time I wont sit so close though, the autofocus on my camera can't handle it apparently.

I CAN'T SLEEP! Gahh, this sucks, I really need to just pass out. I just keep getting distracted. Darn life.

Four days... four days then it'll be one year since my dad passed away. I'm pretty much dreading it. What do I do? Should I just sit around? Cry? Burrow under my blankets and sleep the day away? I feel like something big has to happen. Like, the skies should part and bolts of lightning should be shot down from the heavens as a massive flood takes over the world. But instead life will go on, and I'll be stuck here in my room alone.

PROCRASTINATION!

With a 25pg paper due by the 8th, a 5pg paper due by the 5th, a 4pg paper due by the 11th, 2 songs to memorize and perform this week, a quick write up of a friend's performance, 2 reviews for the paper due very soon, stagecraft from 3-7 for the rest of this week, and finals coming up I'm about ready to EXPLODE! Plus, I have all this financial stuff and medical stuff to worry about because the idiots at my colleges health center's business lost my records. ARGHHHH!!!! I'm going back to school tomorrow (today technically), and I'm dreading it. I haven't written my review of Twilight that's due yet and I know I'm going to be dead tomorrow.. I still having packing to do for goodness sake! I can't wait till winter break. A whole month of carefree awesomeness will be brilliant. I just wish I had a job to come back to. I need to make money.. lots of money.

On a nonrelated note, I finally did my roots. After about 2inches of brown, I bleached and added more pink... yay!

I've been listening to a lot of music today. I've noticed that I don't listen to as much as I used to. When I came home I popped in the Spring Awakening cast recording, followed by Eric Whitacre's Cloudburst (oh how I adore that man), and am now perusing myspace's music pages. I didn't realize The Hush Sound was coming out with a new album. So far I'm in love. I like how it has a bluesy twist (hence the name of the album I guess, lol).
I really want to see Hannah Montana's 3d movie thing. Yes I am aware of the lameness factor that that statement entails but I just can't shake the urge. As much as I hate saying it, I love Hannah Montana. Darn Disney and they're ability to create catchy tunes.
It is very cold here. No. No, it's extremely cold here. I don't know what happened between yesterday and today but now I'm huddled under about 3 blankets and still cold.
I'm competing in a poetry recitation competition. I think I've finally picked out my main poem. It's Scary Movies by Kim Addonizio. My favorite lines would have to be:

"I think of a friends voice
on her answering machine-
Hi I'm not here-
the morning of her funeral,
the calls filling up the tape
and the mail still arriving..."

The whole poem is fantastic, and I definitely recommend it.
So, I'm pretty sure that nobody except for me and the occasional accidental passerby will ever read this blog, but I'm okay with that. I suppose I'll end my rambling here for today. It's time I start working on school essays and such.

Hello to anyone who has somehow stumbled upon this entry. My name is Monica, I'm 17 and a senior in high school. I'm obsessed with quite a few things: Harry Potter and musical theatre being the frontrunners. I'm new to LiveJournal but not new to blogging. I have a website, that I neglect way too often, and a vlogging account on YouTube. I also do makeup tutorials on YouTube, but I'm sure none of this is of much interest to you. I hope to use this little spot for my ramblings, poetry, pictures, graphics, and such random things.
Currently, I am watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for the first time... and I'm starting to realize why I never watched it before.
Well, I suppose that's all I'll talk about today. Hopefully I'll actually keep this journal on a regular basis.
